Data Collection

The engine data can individually be captured depending on customers needs. The EDCenter offers over 300 existing parameters. New parameters can easily be added to the system (see Data Dictionary).
Logically, the chosen setup will have an impact on the automatic analysis of the system.

How to collect engine data can be structured in the following 3 groups:

Automatic online data capturing

Semi automatic capturing

Manual data collection

Automatic online data capturing

The system layout shows an automatic online data capturing system with a DocGate e-732.

The permanent online engine combustion monitoring system in combination with an engine automation system collects and stores all engine parameters on a server in the control room.

In time intervals, the server sends all data to the EDCenter.

Automatic Data Capturing

Semi automatic capturing

The system layout shows a semi automatic online data capturing system with a DocHub e-932.

Periodically (monthly), the portable online engine monitoring system collects the combustion parameters and sends it by a wireless connection to the remote server in the control room.
During the measurement, the control room server collects the rest of all engine parameters from the engine automation system. The full set of data will be sent to the EDCenter.

Manual data collection

The system layout shows a manual data capturing system with a DocPad2 e-623.

Periodically (monthly), the combustion parameters are measured on the different engines. Manually, the monthly engine performance report has to be filled out and sent to the EDCenter.
